United States Africa Command Posture Statement 2009
This booklet contains the text of US Africa Commands written testimony to the US Congress in March 2009. This posture statement describes the US Africa Command's approach to sustained security engagement through current and planned programmes and activities. The aim is to help partners build security capacity and increase their capability to conduct military operations with well-trained, disciplined forces; supported by institutions that ensure the service members are provided for, equipped, and ready. One of the responsibilities of the Command is to assist African countries in developing measures, and the capacity, to combat illegal fishing.
