Tuna 2010

20/05/2010

The global Tuna Conference, TUNA 2010, will be held from 20-22 May 2010 in Bangkok. TUNA 2010 is the 11th in the series of biennial INFOFISH Tuna conferences. The conference has always attracted industry leaders and policy makers from all over the world. The last TUNA 2008 was attended by over 600 delegates from 60 countries. TUNA 2010 is expected to attract even more delegates, nearly 700, from all sectors of the global tuna industry: fishing operators, suppliers, exporters, importers, canners, buyers, agents, consultants, government officials, researchers, retailers, wholesalers, equipment suppliers etc.

The three-day conference will take a close look at the latest developments in the global and regional tuna industries, and would cover a wide range of topics on resources, management, fishing, markets and marketing, products and quality developments, new technology, trade and food safety as well as sustainability and environmental issues.

In response to requests from industry, TUNA 2010 will extensively discuss tuna stock status, management issues and measures taken by RFMOs and stakeholders to ensure the sustainability of tuna resources in major fishing areas namely Indian, Atlantic and Pacific oceans.
