Protect Beluga sturgeon, says Seafood Choices Alliance

29/05/2007

The Seafood Choices Alliance is calling on individuals to show their support, by signing a petition to strengthen the resolution governing the global trade of sturgeon and caviar.

The petition requests the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES) to improve the standards of global trade of sturgeon and caviar at its meeting next month, in the Netherlands.

Important conservation measures, it has been said, are needed to improve the international trade regulations to help ensure the sturgeon‘s long-term survival.
